Reading SCORM data without losing the plot

SCORM data is rich. Most LMSs surface a single percentage and call it analytics. Here are the five dashboards that actually move decisions.

The five

  1. Drop-off heatmap by slide. Where do people abandon? Almost always one specific screen.
  2. Question difficulty distribution. Questions with 90%+ correct are too easy. 30% correct = likely a wording problem, not a knowledge problem.
  3. Time-on-task vs score. If scores are high and time is short, learners are pattern-matching, not learning.
  4. Retake density. 3+ attempts on a module is a content failure, not a learner failure.
  5. Cohort completion curve. Plot completion against day-since-assignment. The shape tells you about urgency, comms, and reminders.

Where to host them

Most LMS native dashboards are bad. Pipe the SCORM data into Looker Studio or Power BI weekly. Cheap, fast, and your L&D team owns the questions instead of begging IT.
