If a leadership course can be passed by reading the slides, it isn't teaching leadership. It's testing reading.
The five scenarios we always include
- The underperformer you like. Practise the conversation, not the policy.
- The peer who undermines you. Boundary-setting under social cost.
- The team member who's outgrown the role. Career conversation without losing them.
- The crisis call at 8pm. Decision-making with incomplete information.
- The bad-news announcement. Communication when you didn't make the decision.
Why bullet-pointed frameworks don't survive contact
"SBI" is a useful mnemonic. It is not a learning objective. The objective is "give feedback that lands without damaging the relationship." Practice that. Reveal the mnemonic only after the learner has tried and failed at the harder thing.
What we measure
Not "completed". We measure choice quality in branching scenarios — how often a learner picks the response a senior leader would. We benchmark against a panel of real managers and surface the gap.
